Doug Toone started out as a jeweler who repaired jewelery for other local businesses. He was offered the opportunity to have a booth at the World's Fair (Expo '74) after all of his coworkers turned it down. He brought his bench, tools, and a small selection of jewelry he had made, and started casting and creating for the crowd. Every single piece he produced sold that day, and he realized that he not only had a great talent for making jewelry, but also for making his clients feel like family. A few years later, Jewelry Design Center was born. From a small shop in the back of the Northtown office building to the now almost 17,000 square foot facility in Spokane and 4,500-square-foot location in Kennewick, that mentality has never changed.
